The top is either Ash or Beech which I have finished with Osmo Hard Wax Oil \"Raw\" which adds protection but leaves the wood looking raw. The top has tons of bumps, bangs and scratches etc all consummate with age and just adds to its character and charm. The base has had a clean and wax which again has tons of character. This is a great size table being a comfortable 4 seater when closed which extends to seat 8 once extended.
