1980s Geometric Black Lacquer Wall Mirror

For sale is this 1980s geometric wall mirror with hand-painted artwork on a black lacquered frame. It features a thick, heavy glass plate with a deep bevelled edge. It's such an unusual piece, the bold angular patterns draw heavy inspiration from 1980s Postmodernism and the Memphis movement, with a subtle nod to Art Deco. Up close you can see the brush texture in the paintwork, so it was definitely hand-decorated rather than mass produced.

As you can see from the pictures, it shows some honest vintage wear, including surface scuffs on the glossy black finish and small chips along the outer edges where the timber shows through. It’s a solid, heavy piece and the glass itself is clear and in good shape.

Dimensions are Width 62 Height 92 all centimeters.

All of my items are genuine vintage or antique. Items of this age come with obvious age related knocks, bumps and scratches etc. In my opinion this only adds to their originality and style. If you are looking for pristine furniture or decor I doubt my items will be for you.
